171 projects in 39 countries – last year, Kolping International was able to support vocational training, agriculture, micro credit, and water projects with over 11 million euro. The donations by private donors increased significantly, amounting to nearly 7.3 million Euro – that’s an increase of over 20% compared with last year.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Cooperation Alexander De Croo today signed two programmes in Benin, related to the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and rights. Belgium will be cooperating with UNICEF to help combat child marriages. With the support of our country, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will be setting up an information project aimed at young people and women, covering sexual education and sexual violence.

  • The third and last food deliveries for the 2016/17 school year started on 10 march 2017 for three weeks. WFP provided school meals to 101,297 children for 21 days instead of 55.

Chaque année, la Belgique alloue 600 000 euros à la Croix-Rouge pour financer ses interventions lors de « catastrophes silencieuses ». La seule année 2015 a été le théâtre de 346 catastrophes dont (quasiment) personne n’a entendu parler. Pourtant, elles ont causé près de 23 000 décès et affecté environ 100 000 personnes. Le manque de couverture médiatique à ce sujet entraîne une absence de soutien du public.

Cette action a pour but de réduire la mortalité maternelle et infantile en garantissant le bon déroulement de chaque accouchement et en permettant que les meilleurs soins soient administrés aux nouveaux nés en cas d’urgence.
