Les chiffres et infographies donnent un aperçu global sur le flux et le profil des individus observés au mois de décembre 2017 dans les différents points de suivi des mouvements de population.

En Guinée, cinq points de suivi ont été installés en fin mars 2017 dans les localités frontalières avec Mali dont trois sont actifs depuis septembre 2017. Il s’agit des localités de Kouremalé (moyenne de 100 individus par jour, a décembre), Boundoufourdou (moyenne de 408 individus par jour) et Nafadji (18 individus/jour) où l’on observe les mouvements des voyageurs en transit.

  • Current climatic conditions are favorable for the normal start of agricultural activities in Bi-modal and southern Guinean-Sudanian Zones.

 As above-average rainfall expected to continue over parts of Guinea, a large scale suppression of season precipitation is forecast throughout the Gulf of Guinea region.

1) A pronounced late start of seasonal rainfall in July has delayed planting by approximately one month and has reduced crop yields across many parts of Sudan. The onset of continuous seasonal rainfall during mid to late September now remains critical for several local areas that have planted late.

1) The onset of the rainy season was delayed by more than four weeks across southeastern Sudan, northwestern Ethiopia, and southern Eritrea. This has delayed planting, reduced planting areas, and negatively impacted crops across the region. Though an increase in rainfall has been observed since the beginning of August, seasonal rainfall deficits have been sustained over many local areas.

The CAP is much more than an appeal for money. It is an inclusive and coordinated programme cycle of:

(a) strategic planning leading to a Common Humanitarian Action Plan (CHAP);
(b) resource mobilisation (leading to a Consolidated Appeal or a Flash Appeal);
(c) coordinated programme implementation;
(d) joint monitoring and evaluation;
(e) revision, if necessary; and
(f) reporting on results.
