report Merlin

London, 7 May, 2004 (Merlin) - An assessment carried out by Merlin, the international medical relief agency, has identified a humanitarian catastrophe about to occur in Kamunia, southern DR Congo. An estimated 20,000 people in desperate conditions are expected to be expelled from neighbouring Angola into the area within the next five days. There are currently no NGOs present and barely any facilities in place to care for them.
