Luanda – The nationwide aid raising campaign launched on October 21 12 by Angolan Government to assist the people of Somolia hit by a severe famine resulting from drought has scored positive results, Angop learned Tuesday in Luanda.

This was said by the secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Rui Mangueira, at the closing of the campaign, after receiving about 800 tonnes of foodstuffs donated by several companies of the public sector.

Luanda – A campaign of solidarity with the people of Somalia, who are going through a difficult situation due to prolonged drought, was launched in Luanda on Friday by the Angolan Executive.

The campaign, which is co-ordinated by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, will last two weeks and has the objective to collect goods and financial resources.

Luanda - Angola will contribute with USD five million in the campaign to help people in the Horn of Africa affected by hunger and drought.

This announcement was made this Friday, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by the Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, George Chicoti.

Luanda - Angola will announce Wednesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a Usd 5.0 million aid to help relieve the humanitarian situation prevailing in Somalia.

This was said Wednesday in Luanda by the Angolan Foreign minister, George Chicoti.

The minister was speaking to the press short before leaving for Ethiopia, where he will attend, in representation of the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, the Summit of African Heads of State under the aegis of the continental organisation.
