In 2016, a total of 25 human cases of dracunculiasis1 (guinea-worm disease) were reported to the World Health Organization (WHO); Mali reported zero cases for the first time.

In FY 2015, as in previous years, USAID/OFDA not only responded to urgent needs resulting from disasters, but also supported DRR programs that built resilience and improved emergency preparedness, mitigation, and response capacity at the local, national, and regional levels.
