MAG has been a partner of the Luanda International School for over twelve months and has worked on a number of fundraising and mine awareness campaigns. The MAG-Luanda International School Landmine Awareness Week (detailed overleaf) is just one example of the ongoing cooperation between the two organisations. Earlier in the year, the School hosted a "night of a thousand dinners" which is part of an annual international initiative to raise funds to clear landmines and assist landmine survivors. In May, MAG and the School launched its first joint Golf Day.

Luanda, 12/27 - A tuberculosis expert in Cazenga district, Luanda province, has advised local residents to take care of their diet with a view to reducing cases of tuberculosis.

Luanda, 12/24 - Forty new primary schools will be built as from 2008, in Luanda and Benguela provinces, under a project funded by the Japanese government, to be officially delivered Thursday, 27 December, to the Angolan authorities.
The project, reads a UNICEF note that reached ANGOP Monday, is estimated at USD 8.95 million, an amount to be handed over by that Asian country's ambassador to Angola, Susumu Shibata.

Ndalatando, 12/24 - A project intended to fight malaria, aimed at reducing death rate in the country, is underway since December 20 this year in northern Kwanza Norte province, under the initiative of the NGO "World Vision International".
For the implementation of the one-year long project, estimated at US 500,000, the World Vision International counts on partnership of the provincial Delegation of the Angola Red Cross (CVA) and government organisations competing for the normalisation of the health situation in Kwanza Norte.

Kuito 12/21 - Health officials in central Bié province Thursday enforced cholera combat measures, through the awareness lectures focussed on the danger and consequences of the refereed disease, with a view to preventing it from spreading within the population.

Uige, 12/20 - Seventy six people infected with trypanosomiasis were diagnosed, in 2007, during an active test conducted by technicians of the sector, based in the districts of Uíge, Songo, Quitexe and Quimbele, northern Uíge province.
According to the head of the provincial department of the institute of control and combat to the disease in Uíge, Tito Bange, eight out of this number are currently hospitalised at the centre of treatment and combat to sleeping sickness in Uige city, and the remainder are receiving mobile treatment.
Luanda, 12/19 - The chairman of the National Inter-Sectoral Commission of Demining and Humanitarian Assistance (CNIDAH), Santana André Pitra "Petroff" Wednesday here said that landmines clearance in the country has been enabling the implementation of the national reconstruction programme.
