January 15, 2001, New York - Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) today issued its third annual list of the most under-reported humanitarian stories of the year. The organization compiled the list to call attention to human crises that were largely ignored by the U.S. press during 2000.
Food Situation in Angola Slightly Improved: Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is to begin a nutritional survey in Malanje at the end of this week in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and other non-governmental organizations. Doctors Without Borders is currently running seven feeding centers in the besieged city. A total of 1,500 children are receiving therapeutic feeding in six of these centers, and an additional center is providing supplementary feeding.
