Angola. Government offensives in the Central Highlands have resulted in new displacement and subsequent humanitarian needs. Very high prevalences of malnutrition have once more been re-ported in Malange among children and also adults, and thus the situation has not improved since the last survey in June and affects both IDPs and the resident population.

Food Situation in Angola Slightly Improved: Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is to begin a nutritional survey in Malanje at the end of this week in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and other non-governmental organizations. Doctors Without Borders is currently running seven feeding centers in the besieged city. A total of 1,500 children are receiving therapeutic feeding in six of these centers, and an additional center is providing supplementary feeding.
