The Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) at its 808th meeting, held on 19 November 2018, adopted the following decision on the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Addis Abéba, le 28 octobre 2015: La Commission de l'Union africaine (UA), en collaboration avec le Centre régional des Nations unies pour la paix et le désarmement en Afrique (UNREC), a organisé une formation de deux jours sur l'identification et le traçage des armes légères et de petit calibre et leurs munitions pour les États membres de la Communauté économique des États de l'Afrique centrale (CEEAC).
Angola Luanda, 25th August 2012 - The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Dr. Jean Ping is deploying an election observation mission to the Republic of Angola to supervise the General Elections scheduled to be held on August 31st 2012 ,only the third since independence in 1975.
The AU Heads of State and Government adopted the Abuja Declarations and Plans of Action in 2000 and 2001, committing themselves to intensifying the fight against HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria and other infectious diseases (ORID). At their Abuja Special Summit of May 2006, they reaffirmed these pledges and committed themselves to scaling up action towards universal access to HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria services BY 2010. As was requested, the AU Commission, in collaboration with WHO and UNAIDS, prepared the 2-year Progress Report on the status of implementation in 2008.
- The Global Polio Eradication Initiative
(GPEI) is the largest, internationally-coordinated public health effort
in history. Since 1988 when the GPEI was launched, the GPEI has reduced
the global incidence of polio by more than 99%. As a result, indigenous
poliovirus has been eliminated from all countries except four countries:
India, Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Polio is on the verge of eradication.
However, many countries continue to experience re-infections that result
in polio outbreaks.

Nairobi 25 October 2006: Kenya will host the second Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes region on 14 and 15 December. The Summit will be held at the United Nations Africa Headquarters, Gigiri and will mark the end of the preparatory phase of the Conference.
Addis Ababa, April 11, 2005 - Between mid-January and 2 April 2005, the Ministry of Health of Angola had reported 163 cases of Marburg Hemorrhagic Fever with 150 fatalities, that is, about 92:100 case fatality ratio. The cases seem to have originated in Uige Province although they were identified in 3 other Provinces. The Angolan Ministry of Health, in collaboration with WHO is finalizing a national action plan to control the outbreak. Support from the International Community and other African countries is anticipated.

1. We, the Heads of State and Government of Member countries of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, meeting in Dar Es-Salaam, on 19 and 20 November 2004, under the auspices of the United Nations and the African Union;
Dar es Salaam 20 November 2004: The First International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, organized under the auspices of the United Nations and the African Union, concluded today, with the adoption and signing by the Heads of State and Government of the core countries of the Great Lakes Region, of a Declaration called the Dar es Salaam Declaration.
