KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- Afghanistan Ambassador to Kuwait Asad Hanif Balkhi commended Tuesday efforts exerted by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in providing various types of humanitarian and relief aid to the Afghan people over recent years.

The Afghan diplomat made his remarks in a press statement after a meeting with KRCS Chairman Hilal Al-Sayer, during which they discussed the issue of increasing the number of children with heart diseases in Afghanistan.

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (KUNA) -- In a gesture of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan has sent emergency relief assistance for those affected by the landslide in the northeastern Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan last week, said a Foreign Office press release.

On the instructions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, the first flight carrying relief supplies has reached Badakhshan on Tuesday.

The consignment contains essential emergency relief items, including tents, blankets, and water purification tablets.

The towns police chief, Col Najibullah Samsor in a press statement said that the incident took place in the 10th police district where three children were killed and four others wounded when their house collapsed due to heavy rains. He further said that many residents of the district had suffered losses due to the heavy rainfall.

KUWAIT, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced on Monday a donation of 750,000 US dollars in assistance of Afghan refugees and 10,000 US dollars to lessen Liberian people's civil war burdens.
