KUWAIT, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Through its efforts in helping people around the globe, the State of Kuwait will mark the United Nation's World Humanitarian Day on August 19th.
In recent history, Kuwait had played an integral part in launching several humanitarian initiatives to make sure that the suffering and the pain felt by the disadvantaged and the needy worldwide would be lessened.

ISLAMABAD, May 11, (KUNA) -- At least six people were killed and over 38 others wounded in a suicide car bombing in the Daman district of southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Sunday, said officials. The spokesman for the governor, Dawa Khan Minapal in a statement said that the car was detonated in front of the Mandisar Hospital leaving six civilians dead and 38 others wounded.
ISLAMABAD, May 6 (KUNA) -- In a gesture of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan has sent emergency relief assistance for those affected by the landslide in the northeastern Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan last week, said a Foreign Office press release.
On the instructions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, the first flight carrying relief supplies has reached Badakhshan on Tuesday.

The towns police chief, Col Najibullah Samsor in a press statement said that the incident took place in the 10th police district where three children were killed and four others wounded when their house collapsed due to heavy rains. He further said that many residents of the district had suffered losses due to the heavy rainfall.

KUWAIT, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced on Monday a donation of 750,000 US dollars in assistance of Afghan refugees and 10,000 US dollars to lessen Liberian people's civil war burdens.
A society statement said the donation for the Afghan refugees came in cooperation with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
