Informing humanitarians worldwide 24/7 — a service provided by UN OCHA

Where we are after a year of ReliefWeb Response

Key Figures

  • 54 sites migrated from HumanitarianResponse.info to ReliefWeb Response
  • Coordinated with partners in 43 countries
  • Provided 80 hours of training to more than 1,000 users

In June 2022, the ReliefWeb Response (RW Response) platform was launched as a ReliefWeb Labs project. RW Response aggregates operational content from existing platforms and provides an authoritative source of information in new and existing humanitarian operations. The platform is our next-generation digital service for humanitarian coordination and replaces HumanitarianResponse.info (HR.info).

With the launch of the new platform in Reliefweb Labs, we worked with early adopters to optimize the RW Response platform. The feedback of this user group was invaluable to improving the migration process and the platform - we implemented an enterprise search, adjusted the look and feel, and improved our multi-lingual support during this phase of the project. In November 2022, we officially launched the new site and began moving the remaining operations from HR.info.

The migration of operations from HumanitarianResponse.info to ReliefWeb Response is now complete. As a result of the active cooperation of Information Management Officers and partners around the world, we were able to finish the migration work one month in advance of the May 2023 deadline!

In all, 54 operations were migrated to RW Response and two new operations were created: Mongolia and Türkiye. This brings the total number of live operations on ReliefWeb Response to 56. See all operations here:.

More than 121,000 users have visited the platform since it was launched in June 2022 as a ReliefWeb Labs project. The most visited operations are:

What’s next?

Upcoming priorities for the new platform include:

  • Archiving - HumanitarianResponse.info will be archived.
  • Training - We will continue to provide training on RW Response to new and existing users, and expand our help documentation.
  • Feedback and improvements - We will gather user feedback and monitor platform analytics to drive site-wide improvements.
