At ReliefWeb, we’re constantly looking for ways to make it easier for our users to find the information they need — fast. That’s why we’ve introduced AI-powered document tagging, a behind-the-scenes upgrade that’s already making a difference.
So, what’s new?
Our new system uses artificial intelligence to automatically tag documents with key metadata such as country, content type and sources — the same categories you rely on to filter and discover content.
Why it matters for you:
- Improved search results — relevant content is easier to find
- Faster publication — AI tags speed up our review process
- More consistent tagging — helping to organize our massive archive of more than one million documents
How it works:
The system uses machine learning models trained on years of ReliefWeb content to recognize patterns in new uploads. Each document is scanned and tagged automatically before going through a human review to ensure accuracy and quality.
We’re continuing to refine and expand the model to support more types of content and languages. This is just one step in our broader effort to make ReliefWeb smarter and more useful — for everyone.
