ReliefWeb Apps: 12,000 downloads and counting!
After only four months, ReliefWeb mobile apps have been downloaded more than 12,000 times!
We began developing mobile apps in mid-2016 to make information more accessible to our users and meet the ever-growing mobile demand for our content.
In October 2016, we launched four distinctive mobile apps:
- RW Crises provides real-time data and funding information as well as maps, infographics, and situation reports on the world’s most pressing crises;
- RW Headlines gives users an overview of the latest humanitarian news;
- RW Jobs makes it easier to access our comprehensive job listings on-the-go, based on user preferences;
- RW Videos caters for the emerging trend of video reporting and features the latest humanitarian videos selected by ReliefWeb editors.
Twitter reactions before and after the launch can be seen below:
We are grateful to our users and collaborators in making this project successful.
We are now working on another iteration of these apps as well as developing a tablet version of the Crises app, featuring more interactive data and a map-based platform. A new regional humanitarian mobile app for the Americas in Spanish is also under development.
