Farewell to ReliefWeb Mobile: A New Journey Begins

An important update is on the horizon for the ReliefWeb community!

As of 30 April 2024, we will decommission the ReliefWeb Mobile website. This decision, while significant, is a necessary step towards enhancing our services and providing you with the best possible user experience.

A Look Back at ReliefWeb Mobile

In March 2013, we introduced ReliefWeb Mobile (m.reliefweb.int) to help users with low-bandwidth connections and/or mobile devices, leveraging the capabilities of the ReliefWeb API. In 2018, it underwent a revamp, becoming the first foundation of OCHA’s common design. It has been a valuable tool for our users, particularly those in the deep field with mobile devices.

Why Decommission ReliefWeb Mobile?

Responding to the growing mobile device usage, the team rebuilt the main ReliefWeb site with responsive web design in 2020. This development led to the mobile website becoming essentially redundant, potentially complicating the user journey.

To streamline and enhance our services and user experience, we have decided to focus our energy, efforts and resources on improving the main ReliefWeb platform.

What’s Next?

While the decommissioning of ReliefWeb Mobile marks the end of an era, it also heralds the beginning of a new chapter. We are excited about the future and are looking forward to introducing new features and improvements to our main website.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our users who have supported and used ReliefWeb Mobile over the years.

Your feedback and engagement have been invaluable in shaping our services. We look forward to continuing to serve you through our main website.

We appreciate your understanding and support during this transition.
