As Myanmar is going through political and economic reforms and nationwide ceasefire negotiations, conflict in Kachin and northern Shan states is ongoing, and tensions in Rakhine persist. The displacement profile of the country is one of great complexity which includes statelessness, protracted internal displacement as well as recurring national disaster driven displacement.
It is 6.30 in the morning and as the sun rises some 250 UN police officers and support staff prepare to enter a camp for displaced people adjacent to the UN base in Juba, the capital of South Sudan.
Around 39,000 people live in the camp or protection of civilians site, known as POC 3, after fleeing the ongoing violence which has affected the country for the last three and a half years. Many of the inhabitants are opposed to the government.

Burundi's President Pierre Nkurunziza has invited people who fled the country during violent political unrest two years ago to return home.
Nkurunziza extended the invitation Thursday during a visit to Tanzania, his first trip outside Burundi since a coup attempt on May 13, 2015.
The U.N. refugee agency says Tanzania currently hosts more than 240,000 Burundians, most of them living in camps near the two countries' shared border.
