The Ministry of Foreign Affairs donates four million Danish kroner to DanChurchAid’s work, clearing away the dangerous ammunition and remnants of war in Libya.
In Misrata, ammunition and other remnants of war are piled up against the house surfaces, in the street and in parks. All types of ammunition, both boxes with shells and grenades for destroyed tanks.
‘It is extremely dangerous because the civilians are unable to tell if the ammunition has been used or if it is still active’, says Richard MacCormac, Head of the DCA Humanitarian Mine Action Unit.
