El Gobierno ha constituido una reserva de granos básicos en caso de que la baja intensidad de las lluvias afecte la cosecha de este año.

Los agricultores aprueban la medida, pero consideran que hay espacio para mejorar.

Esta reserva incluye 11,000 quintales de semilla de maíz, 2,000 quintales de sorgo y 50,000 quintales de fertilizantes, dijo el presidente Salvador Sánchez Cerén.

El Salvador - IOM has completed the refurbishment of a Child Protection Center managed by the Salvadoran Institute for the Development of Children and Youth (ISNA) in El Salvador.

This is the first of two shelters that IOM will upgrade to improve standards of care, accommodation, and welfare assistance for vulnerable minors returning from abroad. Both shelters can accommodate some 100 unaccompanied underage returnees at a time, usually for periods of 24-48 hours.

Erratic, below-average rainfall in February and early March, followed by four consecutive weeks of little to no rainfall since mid-March has led to large moisture deficits and rapidly deteriorating ground conditions in Ethiopia. The absence of mid-season rainfall is likely to adversely affect cropping activities in Belg-producing areas of the country.

In March, U.S. Border Patrol apprehended 3,138 unaccompanied children on the U.S. side of the border with Mexico. Of that number, 1,070 kids were Mexican citizens. 579 were from El Salvador, 1,084 were from Guatemala, and 368 were from Honduras.
