La inflación anual de alimentos en la región alcanzó su mayor nivel en lo que va del año al registrar una variación de casi 9 % entre junio de 2011 y junio de 2012. Este nivel es 0,8 puntos porcentuales mayor al reportado el mes pasado. Se trata de un nivel similar al que hubo en enero de 2012 (8,7 %) La inflación anual general regional, en contraste, continúa su trayectoria descendente: entre enero y junio de este año dicha tasa redujo su ritmo de 6,9 % a 6 %.

KALASIN, 13 February 2012 (NNT) – Several provinces in the Northeast have been facing severe drought for over two months. Officials have to distribute potable water to residents in many villages with serious water shortages.

In Kalasin province, the locals have used up the underground water. They have to buy water from water trucks at 300 baht each truck.
