La fin du mois d’Avril se distingue par une légère augmentation des personnes rapatriées dans la zone du Sud-Ouest et une baisse d’environ 50% dans la zone Ouest. Ces zones de retour ont grandement été marquées par la réception de 820 familles composées de 2803 personnes dans les points d’entré habituel au niveau de Tabou et Guiglo.

Le programme de retour volontaire initié par le HCR soutenu par ses partenaires se déroule très bien depuis le début du second trimestre. Depuis le début du mois d’avril, nous avons enregistré un total de 392 familles composées de 1370 personnes dans les points d’entré habituel au niveau de Tabou et Guiglo.

La fin du mois de Mars se distingue par une reprise à la hausse des activités de rapatriement avec un nombre important de convoi réceptionné à l’Ouest et le Sud-Ouest de la cote d’ivoire. Ces zones de retour ont grandement été marquées par la réception des convois de 11.508 individus dont 3 220 familles dans la période allant du 1 er janvier au 31 mars 2016.

I – POINTS SAILLANTS

Depuis le début de l’année 2016, le HCR et ses partenaires facilitent le retour des réfugiés Ivoiriens dans l’Ouest et le Sud-Ouest de la Côte D’Ivoire. Ces zones de retour ont grandement été marquées par la réception des convois de 8.576 individus dont 2.319 familles dans la période allant du 1 er janvier au 11 mars 2016.

Le 24 Février 2016, le HCR a réceptionné le tout premier convoi de la sous-région en provenance du Togo (02 familles de 04 individus).

A l’issue des crises qu’a connues la Côte d’Ivoire, c'est-à-dire, celles de 2002 et la crise postélectorale de 2010 - 2011, environs 300.000 ivoiriens se sont retrouvés en exil dans la sous-région (Liberia, Ghana, Togo, Guinée, Mali...)

This bulletin examines trends in staple food and fuel prices, the cost of the basic food basket and consumer price indices for 71 countries in the first quarter of 2016 (January to March).1 The maps on pages 6–7 disaggregate the impact analysis to sub-national level.

Global Highlights

•During Q1-2016, FAO’s global cereal price index fell by 14 percent year-on-year thanks to ample supplies and stock positions. The index is now at levels last seen in early 2007. The FAO global food price index is 15 percent lower than in Q1-2015.

The meningitis outbreak has claimed zero deaths in Togo this week, thanks in part to the distribution of medicines and free treatment to affected communities.

Meningitis surfaced in Togo in January 2016 and a total of 1,675 cases and 121 deaths have been reported. However, in the past week, 45 new cases have been reported in Togo with zero deaths, suggesting the disease is now under control thanks in part to access to free treatment and medicines.
