1. AFTER PROLONGED, SEVERE MONSOON RAINS IN EAST JAVA, BENGAWAN SOLO RIVER OVERFLOWED AND INUNDATED 5 DISTRICTS (NGAWI, TUBAN, BOJONEGORO, GRESIK AND LAMONGAN) STARTING LATE MARCH. FLOODS NOW RECEDING, HOWEVER RAINS CONTINUING. UN/DHA RESIDENT COORDINATOR REPORTS THAT HEAVY RAINS/FLOODING NOT UNUSUAL IN MONSOON SEASON, BUT CURRENT FLOODS ARE WORST SO FAR EXPERIENCED.
