Education and Peacebuilding - A Preliminary Framework

Highlighting the need for emergency education in the early stages of conflict, this operational framework examines how educational resources contribute to peacebuilding, focusing on children in conflict and the use of education in conflict management.

Civil Military Interaction

Seeking to reflect global best practice in relation to the provision of humanitarian assistance, this document outlines guiding principles for NGO interaction with the military to assist NGOs in maintaining organisational integrity and focus on the people in need in a humanitarian emergency.  

The principles were developed in the context of humanitarian agencies increasingly working in complex emergencies and natural disasters with a military presence, forcing more direct engagement than ever before between the military, local population and humanitarian agencies.

Rwandan, Ugandan officials meet amid rapprochement

KIGALI, Sept 1 (AFP) - The ruling parties of Uganda and Rwanda agreed at the weekend to meet every three months to ensure good relations between the two central African neighbours, officials said.
