Repatriation of registered Afghan refugees to Afghanistan was 6% less this week compared to last week’s figure of 1,731. Return of undocumented Afghans increased by 5% compared to 1,885 individuals that returned between 23 and 29 July 2017.

Some 96% (1,898 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 97% (1,576 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Repatriation of registered Afghan refugees to Afghanistan decreased by 20% compared to last week’s figure of 2,166. Similarly, the return of undocumented Afghans decreased by 13% compared to 2,162 individuals that returned between 16 and 22 July 2017. Some 91% (1,724 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 98% (1,704 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Repatriation of registered Afghan refugees to Afghanistan decreased by 20% compared to last week’s figure of 2,695. Some 92% (2,009 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 98% (2,123 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Repatriation of registered Afghan refugees to Afghanistan increased by 36% compared to last week’s figure of 1,981. The return of undocumented Afghans also increased by 5% compared to 2,075 individuals that returned between 2 and 8 July 2017.

Some 97% (2,122 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 98% (2,630 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Following Eid holiday and resumption of normal working hours after Ramadan, cross-border movement figures increased to get closer to the average weekly figures of 2017 (2,597 individuals for registered refugees and 2,652 individuals for undocumented Afghans).

Some 87% (1,812 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 97% (1,922 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

06 Jul 2017 description

Cross-border movement remained low during Ramadan and the Eid holiday. Repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan decreased significantly by 91% compared to last week’s figure of 426. The return of undocumented Afghans also decreased by 27% compared to 470 individuals that returned between 18 and 24 June 2017.

Some 36% (127 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while all 37 individuals (100%) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Some 83% (388 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 96% (409 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan increased by 19% compared to last week’s figure of 574. The return of undocumented Afghans decreased by 38% compared to 1,091 individuals that returned between 4 and 10 June 2017.

Some 90% (610 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 95% (647 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

Cross-border movement remains low during Ramadan. Repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan decreased by 32% compared to last week’s figure of 850. The return of undocumented Afghans also decreased by 42% compared to 1,888 individuals that returned between 28 May and 3 June 2017.

Some 81% (888 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance while 93% (536 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

As expected, the start of the month of Ramadan saw a massive decline in cross-border movement.
Repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan decreased by 83% compared to last week’s figure of 5,066. The return of undocumented Afghans also decreased by 63% compared to 5,088 individuals that returned between 21 and 27 May 2017.

Some 84% (1,595 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance. Also, 97% (827 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

During the week of 26 May to 01 June, 583 families returned to North Waziristan Agency. Returns will be halted for the month of Ramazan, and will continue after the Eid holiday.

During the reporting week, repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan decreased by 13% compared to last week’s figure of 5,828. The return of undocumented Afghans increased by 11% compared to 4,564 individuals that returned between 14 and 20 May 2017. Chaman border re-opened on 27 May after a closure of 22 days.

Some 98% (4,976 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance. Also, 98% (4,956 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.

During the week of 19 to 25 May, 840 families returned to Khyber, North Waziristan and South Waziristan Agencies.

During the week of 12 to 18 May, 348 families returned to Khyber, and South Waziristan Agencies. Returns to NWA were halted as of 02 May for the return Pakistan refugee families from Afghanistan, but are scheduled to continue on 23 May.

During the reporting week, repatriation of registered refugees to Afghanistan increased by 40% compared to last week’s figure of 4,158. The return of undocumented Afghans also increased by 3% compared to 4,410 individuals that returned between 7 and 13 May 2017. Chaman border remained closed during the week. All returns took place via Torkham.

Some 98% (4,471 individuals) of the undocumented returnees were provided with needs-based assistance. Also, 97% (5,674 individuals) of the registered Afghan refugee returnees were provided with cash assistance.
