En total, son 14 los países de Africa, América Latina, Europa del este y Asia los receptores de estas partidas, que se destinarán a impulsar proyectos de ayuda de emergencia, desarrollo agrícola, salud, servicios sociales y construcción de la paz.

The Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) has released the 8th Edition of "To Walk the Earth in Safety," a report summarizing the accomplishments of the U.S. Humanitarian Mine Action Program, the world's largest such operation.

In 2008, the Department of State provided $123.1 million in mine clearance and weapons destruction assistance to 35 countries. Among the report's success stories is Cambodia, where U.S.

New website provides reliable information on return and reintegration in countries of origin

Belgium - IOM has launched a new website to provide migrants in Europe with unbiased and up-to-date information on return and reintegration opportunities in their countries of origin.

The EC-funded website allows migrants who are currently residing in Austria, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland to have 24/7 access to comprehensive information on return and reintegration conditions in 20 countries of origin, from Afghanistan to Ukraine, including Albania, Angola, Armenia, Brazil, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo,

Message on countries of the South 2009 - 2012: Unified Swiss development cooperation strategy

With its Message on the Continuation of Technical Cooperation and Financial Aid for Developing Countries 2009 - 2012, the Federal Council presented a unified strategy for the Swiss Government's development cooperation as a whole.

By means of this Message, the Federal Council gears Swiss development cooperation to three priorities:

- reducing poverty;

- reducing security risks;

- co-shaping a form of globalization that promotes development.

Four-and-a-half billion Swiss francs have been allocated for this work for the period 2009-2012.

Stratégie uniforme en matière de coopération au développement - Nouveautés à partir du 1er janvier 2009

Le Conseil fédéral a présenté, par le vecteur de son Message 2009 - 2012, la nouvelle stratégie globale de la Confédération en matière de coopération au développement. Le Parlement a en outre demandé d'élever à 0,5 % du RNB le montant consacré à l'aide au développement.
