The Inter-American response to the floods in Venezuela

The Inter-American System, comprising various agencies representing health, finance, development and defense, has been mobilized in response to the recent flooding in Venezuela. Following is an account of some of the various agencies that comprise the Inter-American System along with their contributions to the relief efforts:

Partners of the Americas sends aid to Venezuela survivors

Partners of the Americas' (Partners) volunteers in Venezuela and Tennessee are responding to the short- and long-term needs of victims of the mudslides that hit Caracas and surrounding states on December, 1999. Partners of the Americas establishes relief fund for Venezuela

A special fund has been set up by Partners of the Americas to help the people of Venezuela to recover from the worst natural disaster in more than 50 years. For the last two weeks the heaviest rainfall in one hundred years has been falling on Caracas and the northern states, where more than 75% of the country's population lives.
