Participants will learn skills and techniques necessary to systematically plan, implement, monitor and evaluate community-based watershed initiatives in partnership with local communities, government line agencies, and rural development practitioners. The course strikes a balance and practical integration between technical, social, economic, and political elements of community-based integrated watershed management implementation. This course will be conducted jointly with the World Agroforestry Centre formerly known as ICRAF.

Course Objectives

The course provides an overview of concepts and principles in value chain; development of micro and small scale enterprises and business development services; market assessment; value chain analysis; monitoring and evaluation; and design and management of enterprises to address sustainability and effectively compete with other market players.
