Given the insecure and often rapidly changing environments in which aid agencies work, safety and security management is not an optional extra. It needs to be at the heart of humanitarian programmes. This five day course will enable participants to identify the key requirements for managing security in an organisational framework and practice essential techniques in risk management and crisis response.

The course draws on extensive field case studies, the current humanitarian environment and the security management practices used by humanitarian bodies internationally.

Introduction: A successful strategic planning process examines and makes informed projections about environmental realities to help an organization anticipate and respond to change by clarifying its mission and goals; targeting spending; and reshaping its programs, fundraising and other aspects of operations. This is a highly practical training and participants will get an insight into the process of making step by step strategic plan.
