The 2013 edition of the UN Summer Academy is titled “The Role of the UN in a Rapidly Changing World”, and builds upon the Secretary-General’s Five Year Action Agenda. The Programme will cover 6 days, with each day focusing on a specific theme: UN Reform and Global Governance; Promoting Peaceful Solutions to Conflict; Mainstreaming Human Rights; The Post-2015 Development Agenda; Innovation Driving Change; and two Clinics on Social Media for Development and Big Data for Development. Aid agencies continuously work in situations where communities and individuals are faced with challenges that require timely interventions with varied local and external resources. The relevance and appropriate integration of application of these resources constitute the strategy of tackling the challenges. Different resources mobilized are applied and employed to support each other in addressing a situation. This 5 days course takes the participant through procedures of resource mobilization, proposal writing and fundraising.

The Master's/ Graduate Diploma programme via blended learning in International Development Practice (MIDP) at Mary Immaculate College (MIC), University of Limerick, Ireland, is now recruiting students for the next intake to the programme in September 2013.

The programme consists of face-to-face tuition, online lecturers and seminars, an international placement programme, and a 20,000 word dissertation in semester 3 of the programme.
