4th National Symposium
Join Us For SAMS's Fourth National Symposium in New York City
Today in Syria, schools and hospitals are among the most dangerous places to be. Prior to the eruption of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Syria was known for its extensive education system, with enrollment rates for primary school at 97%, and 70% for secondary school.
On October 6-8, 2017, SAMS will host its fourth National Symposium at the Andaz Hotel in New York City, tackling the important questions of how we can strengthen and rebuild Syrian education and research capacity in the midst of the on-going crisis.
Our Symposium will emphasize topics such as "The Role of Data and Research in Education" with compelling talks from Dr. Satchit Balsari of the Harvard François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights, Dr. Joaquin Blaya, SAMS member Dr. Mohamed Sekkarie, and Dr. Helena Barroco.
Other speakers include SAMS President Dr. Ahmad Tarakji, Dr. Ron Waldman of Doctors of the World, Dr. Conrad Fischer, and Dr. Susan Kawamleh.
