This review examines the roles and positions
of women before, during and after armed conflict, including aspects such
as women as victims, as combatants, as peace activists, as well as considers
challenges in policy and practice.
In addition, it provides an institutional
analysis of sixteen (inter)national organizations' mandate, policy, structure,
expertise, activities and budget from the perspective of women and armed
conflict.
