Investments in improving a country's disaster preparedness capabilities can help reduce damage
and save lives. A significant portion of our effort is devoted to enhancing disaster preparedness
in countries especially vulnerable. We fund the training of international participants who attend workshops, seminars, and conferences. We promote institution building by strengthening disaster preparedness programs. We support projects designed to provide advanced warning of an approaching tsunami,
typhoon, or famine. Through our activities, we help countries better cope with disasters.
