JERUSALEM, Feb 11 (AFP) - A strong
earth tremor shook the Middle East Wednesday, being felt from the Jordanian
capital to Gaza City and sparking instances of panic but no casualties,
correspondents reported.
Israel's public radio, quoting seismologists,
said the quake, which occurred at around 0810 GMT, measured 4.5 degrees
on the Richter scale, with the epicentre north of the Dead Sea.
In Amman employees rushed out of their
offices into the street as buildings shook, and telephone lines were disrupted.
