Yemen Humanitarian Update Issue no. 13, 20 December 2010

This report covers the period 15 November - 20 December. The next report will be issued around 15 January.

Key Points

- Tensions have escalated in Sa'ada Governorate over the last month, as clashes have broken out between the Houthis and pro-Government tribes near the Saudi border

- The situation for stranded Ethiopian migrants in Haradh remains severe, with constant new arrivals. Around 1,000 of over 3,000 migrants have so far been repatriated. Thirty have died since August.

- The 2011 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) has been launched. The total requested amounts to US$224.9 million.

- As of 19 December, the 2010 YHRP was funded at 64 percent; $118 million has been received out of a total of $186 million requested.
