Women Facing War: ICRC Study on the Impact of Armed Conflict on Women

Aiming to demonstrate that women experience war in a multitude of ways, this study considers the impact of war and conflict on the particular needs of women. It has three principle objectives:

- Identify the needs of women engendered by armed conflict
- Examine international law to assess their provision of protection for women
- Examine ICRC's operational response to women affected by armed conflict

The report aims to promote knowledge of and compliance with the obligations of international humanitarian law by as wide an audience as possible and using all available means.
