Systemic Network Analysis of Refugee Relief: A Business-Like Approach

This analysis critically reviews the coodination of relief efforts in crisis situations, presenting a theory that treats the refugee relief community as a single system. The article consists of three arguments and a prescription:

- The refugee relief community can be seen as a complex system
- Systemic network theory increases the understanding of organizations to improve their interaction
- The refugee relief system is developing the characteristics of a network

The paper is addressed to scholars and aims to establish a basis for similar work in the area of humanitarian assistance, drawing from theories developed in business management and dynamic system literatures.
