This report seeks to assist NGOs in reducing the risk to staff and their dependents. It reviews practice and indicates sources of information and guidance on security issues, including technical standards where they exist. Illustrative examples of current good practice are given for some areas of security management, and recommendations are set out at the end of the report. The following issues are discussed:
