Report of the Secretary-General on the Implementation of the Report of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations (A_55_502)
This report is part of the process initiated
by the Panel on UN Peace Operation of making the UN more effective in maintaining
peace and security by giving it the resources and tools needed for conflict
prevention, peaceful resolution of disputes, peacekeeping, post-conflict
peace-building and reconstruction.
Following up on the recommendations offered by of the Panel on UN Peace Operation, supplementary information is provided to the General Assembly to facilitate its consideration of the Panel's recommendations. The report focuses on those recommendations requiring further details and on the time frames envisaged to implement them, as well as provides clarification on the proposed creation of new mechanisms, structures, or working methods.
