This report evaluates the follow-up to the conference
in 1998 on the UN Study on the Impact of Armed Conflict on Children of
August 1996. The following issues are discusses for this purpose:
- Children in captivity
- Importance of the Convention of the Rights of the Child (1989)
- Addressing the causes of armed conflict
- Relevance of international agencies in the field
In addition to the follow-up to the study, the report provides recommendations for future action for all actors concerned, including governments, NGOs and UN agencies.
