This Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN) In-Depth takes a critical look at violence against women and girls during and after conflict. The series features information about rape as a tool of war, humanitarian action against gender-based violence (GBV), the responsibilities of state and civil society in addressing this issue, the relationship between impunity and GBV, and the connections between war and women's health. Frontline reporting originates from Angola, DRC, Burundi, Liberia, Tajikistan, and Sudan. Interviews with experts from the field are complemented by a short documentary.
