Giving Voice to Silent Emergencies

international humanitarian system's response to disasters, this article
discusses the distribution of aid and the influence of geopolitical and
geographical considerations on funding patterns.
With aid increasingly unequal in its distribution and the resulting prevalence of silent disasters, the author argues for the implementation of a needs-based approach to help NGOs respond to emergencies impartially, irrespective of type, size or location.
