Cluster Munition Systems: Situation and Inventory

This summary examines the issue of unexploded submunitions, introducing some definitions and offering ideas about why these exist in thousands in regions emerging from war.

For this purpose, it examines the wars in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq in order to illustrate the proliferation of these weapons and their effects in these particular conflicts. In addition, it considers various solutions proposed by NGOs and reveals different points of view from a panel of seven States.
