As of 31st August, UNICEF and partners have supported over 162,845 South Sudanese in Uganda since the influx began in mid-December 2013, including 99,517 in Adjumani, 16,692 in Arua, 39,054 in Kiryandongo and 7,445 in Kampala.

In the last month, a total of 7,066 (4,353 boys and 2,713 girls) in and out of primary school children in Adjumani District have benefited from interventions supported by UNICEF and partners including sports activities and, creating child friendly environment contributing to; strengthened social cohesion; peaceful co-existence and to enhanced creative thinking among the children and the community.

In August, 24 WASH staff from Government of Uganda, UNHCR, UNICEF, NGO partners OXFAM, Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Water Mission Uganda (WMU) and Action Africa Help International (AAHI) participated in a UNICEF training that facilitated a clear understanding of overall humanitarian reform, business practices and introduction to best practices in WASH in emergency response and coordination.

In Kiryandongo District, a total of 29 children were verified as separated children and supported with Rapid Family Tracing and reunification (Rapid FTR) at the reception centre.
