Nodding disease, already affecting thousands of children in Northern Uganda, is now affecting adults, putting the livelihoods of entire households at risk. Nodding disease is a little known, yet fatal, mentally and physically disabling disease. The government has been providing medicine in Acholi sub-region to reduce attacks of nodding and seizures but mental symptoms remain. Increased research is needed as fear of a whole generation of children in the region being severely affected is growing.
