● On 15 April 2014, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Government of Turkey - announced that the total number of Syrians registered and assisted in 22 camps located in 10 provinces was 222,458. AFAD reported that during the period of 14-15 April 2014, a total of 71 Syrians were admitted and registered in the camps and 252 Syrians have voluntarily returned to Syria.

● In Adana Saricam camp, officials announced that UNICEF and the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (MoFSP) will implement a pilot project on family training. Reportedly the 17 teachers (both Turkish and Syrians) were identified and will be attending the preliminary meeting to discuss the contents of the workshop and preparations.

● Local officials in Adana informed UNHCR that they have received rub hall tents to be placed in Adana Saricam camp which will be used as a center to accommodate unaccompanied minors aged between 13-17 years. In case of any UAMs under 13 years, they will be referred to the child centers of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (MFSP) in the city. Reportedly staff from Ministry of Family and Social Policies (MFSP) will be working in the center.

● A UNHCR Team met with the representatives of an NGO that provides food and non-food items to Syrians living in Kiziltepe/Mardin. Reportedly they have distributed assistance to about 1,700 families so far. The assistance is not regular as it is dependent on donations the NGO receives. The local Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation Office is also working with this NGO to reach the non-camp Syrians in the area.

● In Mardin province, four local volunteers of a platform called "Syrians Cooperation Platform" informed UNHCR that they continue to seek donations and provide support to non-camp Syrians. The volunteers informed that in addition to 500 loaves of bread they distribute every day, they also provide food packages to about 1,200 families every two months and clothing depending on private donations. The volunteers stated that they also provide counseling to the Syrians on various issues, such as access to registration, and temporary residence permits (ikamet) as well as referrals to various state institutions, including marriage procedures etc.
