Yala recovers from flood

YALA, 10 January 2017 (NNT) - Inundation in Yala Province has begun to recede, while Raman District is still under water. Officials continue to provide assistance to flood affected victims.

Officials from Yala's Rubber Authority visited Tha Thong Subdistrict Raman District to distribute 1,000 aid packs to the locals affected by the flooding between December 28 and January 4.

Aid packs will also be distributed to residents in Mueang Yala, Yaha, and Bannang Sata Districts. Officials are currently surveying the damage of rubber farms in order to provide appropriate assistance.

Meanwhile, the Mae Tap Tim Foundation has dispatched trucks carrying aid packs to be distributed to residents in Tha Samet Subdistrict in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, while Fourth Army Commander Lt Gen Piyawat Nakvanich visited the 41st scout division to deliver his orders on assisting residents in the area.
