NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 11 January 2017 (NNT) - The Second Naval Area Command of the Royal Thai Navy has reached out to flood victims in Nakhon Si Thammarat under a rescue operation dubbed ‘From the Sea.’

An airbus helicopter flew from the Royal Thai Navy Ship Ang Thong to deliver a medical team and safety equipment to the residents of Cha-uat district after a report that ill people were unable to receive medical attention as their homes were submerged in deep flood waters.

After expressing their gratitude to the rescue team, the residents said they weren't expecting any assistance as their community was inaccessible due to the heavy inundation.

The operation is one of many rescue operations by the Royal Thai Navy to help those affected by the floods especially in areas inaccessible by land vehicles.
