Chile Government helps flood victims in Thailand
Bangkok, 4 November 2011, H.E. Mr. Javier Becker, Ambassador of Chile presented a donation of US$ 25,000 (765,000 Baht) to Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society. The donation is an emergency grant from the Chile Government to help alleviate suffering of the people affected by floods in Thailand. The Ambassador also conveyed his condolences and sympathy to those who have suffered in the floods.
The Secretary General expressed sincere thanks to the Ambassador for the donation. The donation would be most useful in preparing relief bags to distribute to flood victims, as well as supporting other activities of the Thai Red Cross such as providing cooked foods, water, boats and water purifier trucks in the disaster affected areas.
