UK AID Syria Response - Aug 12th 2013

As conflict continues to rage in Syria, millions of people are in desperate need of assistance.
The UK has committed £348 million to provide support including food, medical care and relief items for over a million people.   

The summaries below for ‘Support Inside Syria’ and for ‘Support to the Region’ describe £173m of UK humanitarian aid already allocated in response to the Syrian crisis.   

On 18th June the UK announced an additional £175m in response to the Syria crisis to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to hundreds of thousands of Syrians in desperate need. The funding will also be used over the next two years to help aid and development agencies plan a more strategic, long term response.   

Details will be finalised and set out in coming weeks.
