Common Transport and Storage

  • In June, the Cluster transported over 790 m³ of agricultural items to Idleb in Syria, on behalf of FAO, via its free-to-user transport service.

  • In June, the Logistics Cluster stored over 9,720 m³ of newly arrived cargo at its common warehouse facilities in Damascus and Safita, on behalf of DRC, IOM, PU, UNRWA, and WFP. The unusually high amount of food relief cargo stored on behalf of WFP is due to delays as a result of the new procedures being implemented within Syria.

  • In June the Logistics Cluster, and WFP, allotted a new storage space to the humanitarian community in Homs.The Cluster’s storage hubs for common warehousing are: Rural Damascus (11,816m2 ), Homs (1,604m2 ), Lattakia (471m2 ), Qamishly (1,600m2 ) and Safita (2,534m2 ).

  • Since January 2014, the Logistics Cluster has transported over 21,600 m3 of relief-items vital to Shelter, Nutrition, Health, WASH, and Agriculture programmes, on behalf of 16 organisations.
