Syria crisis guide to giving: how to donate to agencies participating in the Syria Humanitarian Assistance Response Plan (SHARP) and the Regional Response Plan (RRP)

DONATING THROUGH THE SYRIA EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND (ERF)

Because many aid organizations (UN and NGOs) are operating under the SHARP and RRP, some donors prefer to give to a pooled fund that channels contributions to these organizations according to the priority humanitarian needs on the ground. The Fund responds quickly and fills gaps in priority sectors and geographical areas through a consultative and collaborative approval processes at the country level.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are eligible to apply for the fund directly.
In 2013, the ERF disbursed over US$32.6 million to reach beneficiaries inside Syria and in neighbouring countries.
To contribute to the ERF, please contact Ms. Amani Salah, Syria ERF Manager, OCHA at salah1@un.org or in Amman on +962 (0)79 535 4227 or Syria on +963 968 888 549 or visit the OCHA Syria web page www.unocha.org/crisis/syria to donate online.

DONATING THROUGH THE CENTRAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND (CERF)

OCHA manages a worldwide emergency stand-by fund which saves lives by providing rapid initial funding for life-saving actions at the onset of emergencies, plus critical support for poorly funded, essential humanitarian response operations in protracted crises. In 2013 the CERF contributed $82,189,016 million towards the response to the Syria crisis. Find out more about the CERF and how to donate by clicking here:
