Highlights

  • Syria: IOM provided emergency Non-Food items (NFIs) for 19,560 displaced and affected individuals in cross-line and hard to reach areas in Rural Damascus and Al-Hasakeh governorates.

  • Jordan: Under the leadership of the MoH and in cooperation with WHO, UNICEF, UNHCR and partners, IOM supported the fourth national polio campaign 26 – 30 Oct 2014 through providing 16 cars and 3 buses to transport the MOH vaccination staff in Irbid, Mafraq, Zarqa, Karak Ma’an and Ajloun governorates.

  • Iraq: 2,237 individuals were transported from the Ibrahim al-Khalil border crossing to Qushtipa,
    Darashakran, Baserma and Harir camps in Erbil governorate. Most of these families originated from Kobane, Syria.

  • Turkey: IOM continues with its multisectoral assistance in the south east of Turkey focusing mainly on : NFI , winterisation and voucher program in Hatay, Transportation service in Adiyman camp, access to school in Urfa and Mersin province and support for food kitchen in Gaziantep.

  • Lebanon: On 14 November IOM launched a new report, “Refugees at Home: A Livelihoods Assessment of Lebanese Returnees from Syria.” The report confirms that Lebanese returnees from Syria remain a particularly vulnerable group with characteristics very similar to those of Syrian refugees.
